Looking at the all-new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta and it’s clear to see it’s definitely grown up, especially in the aesthetics department. The 2019 Jetta now rides on an all-new platform (MQB) that it shares with the all-new Atlas, as well. This means the sedan has grown in width and length; however, it sits lower than the previous generation, giving it a sporty stance on the road. Take in the 2019 Jetta’s side profile and you’ll notice a distinctive fastback-like roofline. And from the front, Volkswagen has outfitted the new Jetta with their latest design language, slotting it into the family lineup perfectly.
Slip inside the 2019 Jetta and you’ll immediately notice a more upscale feel and look. New soft-touch materials abound, there’s an available 8.0” infotainment screen (6.5” is standard), as well as a customizable digital gauge cluster. Heated and cooled front seats are available, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
It wasn’t all about looks when it came to updates on the new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. The sedan’s had its safety game increased as well with the addition of blind-spot warning and rear-traffic alert as standard on all models. Travel up to the higher trim levels, and you’ll find driver alert systems such as front collision warning with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, auto high-beams and lane departure warning and keep assist.
The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta features the outgoing 1.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that’s good for 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the front wheels. There are two transmissions to choose from (available on all models): a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic.
